Lush | Winter Wishlist

I just love winter, wearing warm jumpers and uggs, drinking hot chocolate, and i absolutely love snow but my favourite thing is the christmas festival in edinburgh. They get a massive ferris wheel and loads of christmas themed rides and you can go ice skating, it just has a lovely atmosphere.

When i was in lush last week i saw lots of cool Christmas things but i was running out of time so i only had time to pick up a couple of things. One of the things i got was the a piece of the pink north pole soap which i think smells like candy canes and gingerbread and reminds me of winter months. Some of the things i want to get soon are;

The magic wand bubble bar, unlike most of the other bubble bars this is reusable and it smells really good!

Magic Wand Bubble Bar

Candy mountain bubble bar, I wish i'd got this when i was in lush but i'll get it next time difinatley.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar

Snow fairy shower gel, i've heard lots of good reviews about this so i can't not try it.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

I would also quite like to try the Bubble Beard Bubble Bar - its moustache shaped and smells great! and also Angels delight soap, it looks really cool.. it also has quite good reviews, but it is supposed to be quite sickly?

thanks for reading..

Superdrug| the soothing lip tin

Sorry that i haven't posted in a while... I have like just discovered instagram and i love it! i have been spending alot of my time on that ( @allthewayfromthecapitol ) and i've been doing alot better on that than i have been doing on this since i have about 370 followers on ig and i've only had it for just under 1 month :) and i'm honestly enjoying talking to people and taking part in ighg's and stuff like that.

Anyway, (prepare for a slightly boring post) i have always swore by vaseline rosy lips to keep my lips moisturised and smooth but I misplaced it and cant find it anywhere so i went to buy a new one but they were sold out so i got superdrugs own make of lip balm. I got ' the little soothing tin' for chapped lips and its basically just like vaseline with menthol and stuff like that. To be honest I think its probably better than rosy lips, and it says that it is suitable for vegetarians which is good because, even though it doesn't say it wasn't tested on animals, the thought that the have used part of an animal in a beauty product.... *shudders*.

Any way prepare for lots of posts because i have alot of stuff to review since i have been gone!

Vaseline - Rosy Lips // mini review

This week has just gone so slowly and its been really cold up here in Scotland but its a long weekend tommorow and i'm going up town with Phoebe from phoebes all made up and some other people so that should be fun!

I have fallen head over heels in love with this product! I purchased it ages ago but I've only started using it recently. Its great! It leaves my lips feeling soft and moistureised. It is enriched with rose and almond oil and is a tiny bit tinted.
The only thing i don't like is the smell its not that bad but its not that nice either.
I have been wearing this all the time recently and its probably one of the best lip balms I've tried.

my tin seems to be really scratched??!

I love the colour!
I know the picture quality is terrible, I had to use my phone but I'm saving up for a new camera so expect good photos soon!

Credit goes to Sandra at The Black Pearl Blog for posting about this bargain but she also credits a few other people so i have no idea who was involved in finding this amazing deal.

When i saw the post on Sandra's i went on to www.fragrancedirect.co.uk and had a little look. The colours weren't the best but there was some nice ones but alot were sold out. I'm about to order a few in 'sugar daddy' and 'spaghetti straps' because they were the only colours i really liked. They don't have pictures for most of the shades so i had to google them. Lush : Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

I am addicted to lush! There are just so many great products, its always hard to choose which ones to buy!
I bought a shower jelly about 3 weeks ago and i've wanted to do a review on it ever since but i thought i should wait until i've used it a few time so i could write a honest review.
Mmm it smells so nice! It says "If a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting baby, jelly. Cherries, coconut, jelly and sparkles - this is a party in a pot. Makes every day feel like your birthday" . I think it smells more like blackcurrants rather than cherries but its still amazing! Its just like a bar of soap but better. It lathers up nicely and its quite glittery.
It retails at £3.10 here. Definite Repurchase!

sorry about not using my own pictures! still need to get my camera fixed!

The Mockingjay Pin

Movie Review ~ The Hunger Games!

Just a quick post....Recently i have been addicted to the hunger games but i missed it in the cinema so I've waited for ages to see it and finally had a chance to see it yesterday! I had really high hopes for this film as the book was really good. The film met my expectations though it did miss out some of the important things from the book; like where she got the pin from etc. It is quite sad but the best film I've seen this year + Peeta's cute! It was amazing and I've ordered the DVD so it should be coming sometime in September :) cant wait!! I'm sorry I've not done a beauty post in a while but I've been so busy, i promise there will be more coming soon! Love yous xx

Book Review ~ Catching Fire

The book im reviewing today is Catching Fire which is the second book in the hunger games trilogy, you can find my review on the first one here.

read it in less than a week and i just couldn't put it down! It was a lot better than i expected it to be.  Catching fire was probably even better that The Hunger Games

Summary~After winning the hunger games, Katniss and Peeta arrive back in district 12, both of them are rich and famous and living in Victors Village. They have to visit all the other districts for the victory tour. After the incident with the berries at the end of the last hunger games this prompts an uprising in district 8 and Katniss soon suspects rebellions all over the country of Panem. The mockingjay pin becomes the symbol of the rebels. President Snow announce that for the 75th hunger games ( the 3rd quarter quell ) they would be selecting the tributes from the existing pool of victors forcing Katniss and Peeta to go back into the arena.... Katniss and Peeta want each other to survive more than they want their self to survive.

Miss Sporty : Clubbing Colours

I got a few of these cute polishes from my friend Caitlin last week for my birthday. I actually have the blue one on my nails now but i couldn't get a picture to show yous. I also got the purple one called Grape Fit i really like it but I've not had a chance to try it out yet.
They apply fairly smoothly and dry really quickly. They're not glittery at all but they are not entirely matte as they do have a little shine. I think you can buy them at superdrug and boots for only £1.99 each which is amazing. I definatley want to get the red one in the picture above and maybe the green one too.

Book Review ~ The Hunger Games

I've decided to do a book review series and i know some others have done a similar series but i'm not trying to copy you!!

Any way the book i'm reviewing today is the hunger games by Suzanne Collins. I started reading it on my kindle last Sunday and i'm on the last few pages. Its amazing!!! If you've ever read twilight or the vampire diaries these books are way better!!

Its about a girl called Katniss from district 12 and shes quite poor and she has to hunt every day to feed her family. But when her little sister Prim, gets selected to go to the hunger games she nominates herself to go instead along with a boy named Peeta.

They go to the capital to get trained for the games and they all get a score out of 12 so people have an idea who best to sponsor and bet on and Katniss scores the highest, 11!!!

People from all 12 districts ( one boy and one girl from each district) get put in an arena and they have to kill each other while every one watches on t.v back home. The last one alive gets to go home and they get loads of money and a big house. I wont say any more you'll just have to read it for yourself!!

This has to be one of the best books I've ever read and the movies supposed to be amazing too ( although I've not had a chance to see it yet!!)

I've downloaded the other books and i really look forward to reading them on holiday!

Also china glaze have an amazing collection called capitol colours inspired by the hunger games:

What colours your favourite?

Maybelline dream foundation

Maybelline dream matte mousse #010 ivory

This one has to be one of my favourite. I use this basically everyday. Its applies amazingly and has a nice, even finish and it blends well. I use this one more than the liquid version as it applies easier. It feels light on your face and it has coverage is good. You don't need to use lots so one little pot can last a while.

Maybelline dream satin liquid #010 ivory

I don't often do bad reviews but i always say i will tell my followers what i really think of the products i review.
hmmm... don't think i like this one as much as the mousse version. I just don't like the way this foundation makes your face look and it takes a while to blend properly in comparison to the mousse. So i'm definatley not repurchasing this foundation anytime soon.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Sorry i've not done a post a ages!! i've been really busy.

i bought this mascara recently. i've used it almost everyday and absolutely love it. it makes your lashes look long and thick. this mascara applies nicely and the brush is good quality.i like the colour which is brownish black it's nice cause it makes your lashes look more natural. I like the packaging as it is simple yet really effective. Its a really good price at only £4.99 plus the maybelline stuff was 3 for 2 at superdrug. i got this picture from an online beauty shop as i'm having trouble uploading my own photos :s

Benefit 'That Gal' Primer Review

I noticed that with this months glamour you were getting free benefit minatures so of cource i just had to buy an issue. I could have got Bad Gal Mascara, That Gal Primer or The POREfessional. I chose the 'That Gal' Primer because i've read lots of amazing reviews about it and have been to try it for ages. I love the packaging and the little bottle thing the primer comes in - it looks like a tiny toothpaste tube. The primer smells like strawberrys and cream and its a sort of light pink colour.I haven't used this much yet but my first impressions are good. I will probably buy another magasine and try The POREfessional.

The picture is of the full size version which looks like a glue stick but i prefer the minitures packaging as this glue stick design comes a cross a little bit tacky and cheap looking.

Sorry i tried to upload my own pictures of the minatures but my phone wont let me.

Space Girl Bath Bomb

After only visiting Lush 3 times I think I'm addicted to this shop already!!
I purchased this cool bath bomb this morning at Lush and I've just used it literally 10 minutes ago. I really liked how it smelt like the sweets, Parma Violets and I loved the way it turned the water a lovely lilac color. This bath bomb was actually a lot larger than i expected it to be when i saw it online. There was Popping candy inside that exploded in the water which was a lovely idea but they're wasn't as much glitter as i expected. It left my skin feeling soft and smelling lovely. I will definatley be buying more soon at an amazing price of only £1.95!

RockStar

This is yet another amazing scented soap from lush. Even though i love this soap i don't like it as much as ' Honey I Washed The Kids'. This soap smells really nice and it reminds me of sweets i used to buy when i was small.

Its priced at £3.25 for 100g but i do think its worth a little extra just because it smells so amazing. Its one of the more popular soaps so its in high demand.
I also really like the pretty pink color of this soap and the cute star design on the side.
The only problem with Lush is if i stay in the shop for to long i do get a sore head! It's just because there's so many sweet scents.
Sorry its such a short post! I'll be reviewing more Lush Products tomorrow because I've got the day off so I'm going shopping in Edinburgh so i'll probably buy lots more lush products

Wishlist - June

This is just a few of the products I will be hoping to purchase this month :

1. (from left to right) Elegant touch mix it up nails sweet sherbets.
These are really pretty colors and i like the idea of the mix and match.

3.Maybelline Dream Touch Blush
This gets really good reviews and i would love to try it.

4.Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect foundation.

I have the foundation brush and its great and i need a new blush brush and i loved this one

Honey I Washed The Kids

Honey I Washed the Kids
This soap is absolutely lovely! Its called 'Honey I Washed The Kids' and i bought it at Lush when i was in Edinburgh. When i first bought it i thought it didn't smell that much like honey but when you actually use it,words can't describe how amazing it smells! It smells so much like honey and it leaves your skin feeling really soft and smelling great. I don't like actually taking the hole bar in the shower because i feel its such a waste so i just break little chunks off every time i want to use it. The soap lathers up great and I love the way it looks as well and the name is very creative.

You can buy 100g for £3.45 or 1kg for £34.50.

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter

Revlon lip butters have had some really great reviews and I have been wanting one of these for ages. I spent ages trying to decide on a color but eventually i chose a more natural pink called cotton candy but there are so many more nice colours I would like to try out soon. They are great because not only do the bring amazing color and shine to your lips, They also moisturise leaving your lips really soft and smooth. They give your lips a nice shimmer and this color is really pretty for summer. They are actually on offer at boots right now for just £5.99 Here!

I really recommend buying some of them because they're really handy and i wear mine everyday + they make your lips look absolutely amazing.

Beauty Uses For Vaseline

I was amazed when i found out there was so many beauty related uses for vaseline, theres probably zillions! Vaseline is also really cheap so its a much cheaper alternative to many beauty products! You don't even have to buy the actual brand 'Vaseline' you can buy even cheaper ones from supermarkets, just look for 'Petroleum jelly'.I've decided to share with you some of my favourite beauty uses..!

1.Put a coat on your eyelashes before bed to wake up to longer, thicker lashes!

2.Mix with sea salt to make a scrub

3.Rub on before spraying perfume and you'll be able to smell it for longer

4.It makes a great makeup remover!

5.Mix with lipstick to create a cream blush

6.It removes makeup stains from clothes

7.It can be used to keep cuticles soft

8.Rub a little on splint ends to make your hair look healthier

9.Put on dry skin before fake tanning to avoid a patchy tan

10. Put a thin coat on your teeth before applying lip stick to avoid getting any on your teeth

Barry M makeup brushes!

Hey Guys, just another quick post about Barry m makeup brushes. I hadn't really noticed them before but i saw them in superdrug and just had to get one! I got the foundation brush and its really good. It can be used with basically all types of foundation (except powders) but I found it worked better with a mousse foundation rather than a liquid one.The brush allows you to create an even, flawless finish with no streaking and precise application. Its also a really pretty design, it a really nice colour of purple. Before using this i used to use foundation sponges but compared to this brush they are rubbish. You can buy these on the superdrug website for  about £5.99 Here!
You get loads of different types of brushes by Barry m and there all different colours which is nice. They also sell a little travel set with 4 minature brushes and a little case for about £10

Barry M have also got their own app for iPhone and Android called Lookz.

I love these brushes and will be buying lots more soon!

Thankyou for reading

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser!

This is just a really, really quick review of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.
I love this cleanser, its so great! It removes makeup really well and quite quickly and its gentle on sensitive skin. Its plant based so most of it is natural and its not got any harsh chemicals that can harm your face. Some of the active natural ingredients are eucalyptus and cocoa butter to leave skin feeling soft. Its gives your skin a lovely, radiant glow. It comes with a pure muslin cloth to remove the cleanser. You can buy them at John Lewis or at Liz Earle's website. I does cost a little more than other cleansers but I think they are worth the extra money.

DKNY Sweet Delicious

I Love Cupcakes. They are just sooo cute and lovely to look at!!
Thats why i'm in love with these cute new fragrances from DKNY. They are quite new and the only came out in April.
There are 3 different limited edition cupcake inspire fragrances to choose from. and i guarantee you will want them all!!

My overall favourite is Pink Macaroon. It smells the nicest out of the 3. Its really sweet yet not too sickly. i wear this quite alot and i absolutley adore it.

I quite like the creamy meringue one too. Its not as sweet as the pink one and has a hint of lemon which is actually quite nice.

I really don't like the green one as much as the rest. i think its called key lime tarte. I just don't think it smells as good as the rest.

I also really like the bottles as they are really pretty. But im not too sure why they're shaped like apples because the don't smell like apples or aren't apple inspired

You can get these from Debenham's, Boots and loads of other shops. You can get them in 50ml which is about £30 and you can also get 100ml which is about £40.

I recently got the Pink Macaroon one as a gift and its absolutely lovely.
I plan on buying the yellow and maybe even the green one soon.
